Ocean destination swim along Mollymook
Beach, commencing at North Mollymook
and finishing in front of the Surf Life
Saving Club. This is the 4th Mollymook
Ocean Swim and in response to requests
from Swimmers the course is different
from previous years which had a
start/
finish in front of the Surf Club
House.
Starting at 9.30am will be a 500m swim
for under 10s, 11s, 12s and 13 and over
novice cempetitors.
The 10:30 am start for the 2km race is
in response to requests from Ocean
Swimmers as Mollymook Beach is a great
venue for an Ocean Swim at any time,
but is perfect prior to the wind
getting up. April in Mollymook is
regarded by many locals as the best
time of the year, so be ready for a
swim in temperate, crystal clear water.
At 11.30am will be a "Dash for Glory"
for swimmers who have already completed
the 500m or 2km race.
All other features of previous years
will be retained. Entry fee qualifies
participants to a cap and a Certificate
and all will be eligible for some of
the excellent prizes on offer.
Participants will be provided with
water (courtesy of Shoalwater) and
fresh fruit as well as a BBQ snack at
the end of the event, which will be
followed by a Presentation ceremony in
the Surf Club House.
For swimmers, the day will still begin
at Mollymook SLSC where there is plenty
of car parking. As parking at north
Mollymook is very limited, all swimmers
will be transported by coach for a
10:20 am pre race briefing to be held
at the north Mollymook start line prior
to the scheduled 10:30 am start.
Please note that attendance at the pre
race briefing is compulsory. Organiser:

website. Please ensure that postal and
online entries are lodged such as to
arrive prior to 5:00pm on Thursday,
April 17th 2008.
Late Entries may be lodged at the
Mollymook Surf Club House between
5:00pm and 7:30 pm on Saturday April
19. Limited facilities for late entries
on the morning of the swim will be
available from 7:30 am, however, such
entries will need to close at 8:30am as
the last bus for north Mollymook will
depart at 9:10am to provide sufficient
time for swimmers to attend the 9:20am
pre race briefing to be held at the
start line.
