Surf Life Saving Volunteer for India
Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) in conjunction with its partner the Rashtriya Life Saving Society India [RLSS (I)] is seeking the services of a SLSA volunteer with broad surf lifesaving experience including as a Trainer and/or sport coach/official to travel to India for up to 4 months from approximately the end of October 2013 to end January 2014.
The aim of the program is to work with the RLSS (I) to further develop surf lifesaving in the State of Kerala through advice on training, beach management, and surf sports. In particular the volunteer will assist RLSS (I) with plans for and delivery of a beach festival in Kerala in January 2014, the major component of which will be surf lifesaving”.
Specifically the project outcomes will include:
- Work with RLSS (I) staff and volunteers to prepare necessary plans for the successful organisation of the Multi Sports Beach Festival in December 2013/January 2014
- Work with necessary stakeholders in India and Australia towards the successful organisation of the Multi Sports Beach Festival in December 2013/January 2014
- Conduct training with staff and volunteers of RLSS (I) to training, beach management, and surf sports
- Develop necessary resources to assist RLSS (I) staff and volunteers beyond January 2014 in similar activities
