Saturday 14th February

CHOOSE YOUR DISTANCE

3km Fun Run Family-friendly and car-free along Mitchell Parade, this is running at its most relaxed. The mainly flat, out-and-back course features just one short uphill to the turnaround at Beach Road before you cruise back to the surf club finish. Perfect for kids, strollers, walkers, and anyone wanting a gentle introduction to running events. Fancy dress and bright clothing encouraged! (Sorry, no dogs.)

5km Coast Run Ready for something a bit different? This circuit course starts with a fast, flat blast along Mitchell Parade, then tackles our legendary “heartbreak hill” up to the turnaround on Bannister Head. Enjoy the downhill return to Beach Road, then it’s onto Mollymook Beach for a 2km sand push to the surf club finish. It’s definitely more challenging than your average parkrun—perfect if you want to test yourself.

10km Coast Run This is the big one—a special challenge for runners seeking something truly unique. You’ll experience flats and hills, bitumen roads, grass, gravel, single track, and stairs. Oh, and up to 4km of sandy beach running. The course traverses both Narrawallee and Mollymook Beaches, with the surf club finish in sight for the final 2km. It’s a course that will stretch even the fastest competitors while showcasing the absolute best of our coastline.

THE COURSES IN DETAIL

3km Fun Run Route: Starting on the grass north of the surf club, you’ll head out along car-free Mitchell Parade—mainly flat and fast. There’s one short uphill to the turnaround point at Beach Road, then you’ll return on the same route back to the finish near the surf club. The entire course is on hard surface, making it ideal for strollers, walkers, and runners of all abilities. Costumes and bright clothing are welcomed and encouraged!

5km Coast Run Route: This circuit course is a runner’s delight. You’ll kick off with a flat, fast section along Mitchell Parade that gets the heart pumping, then it’s time for our famous “heartbreak hill”—a challenging climb up to the turnaround at Bannister Head. Gravity becomes your friend on the fast downhill back to Beach Road, where you’ll transition onto the northern end of Mollymook Beach. From there, it’s a 2km push through sand to the surf club finish. The mix of surfaces and elevation makes this more than your average community run.

10km Coast Run Route: Looking for a truly special challenge? This is it. You’ll experience the full spectrum: flat sections and challenging hills, bitumen roads transitioning to grass and gravel paths, single track trails, stairs, and up to 4km of sandy beach running. The course takes you across both Narrawallee and Mollymook Beaches, giving you stunning ocean views throughout. For the final 2km, you’ll have the surf club finish line in sight as you push through the sand—a test of mental and physical strength that rewards faster competitors while remaining achievable for determined runners.
